Michelle King-Lautanen graduated magna cum laude from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, received her Juris Doctorate from University of San Diego School of Law, and obtained her multiple subject teaching credentials from Chapman University. Prior work experience includes 15 years at Twentieth Century Fox, serving at Vice-President for Television Business Affairs. Currently, Michelle is employed at Manhattan Beach Unified School District, where she teaches second grade general education, fourth grade GATE; and serves on the District Teaching and Learning Committee, Writing Workshop Committee, is a Reading Workshop Small Groups Facilitator, and Grade-Wide Chair.
In the past, Michelle has volunteered for her community’s schools in various capacities including Mira Costa Track and Field Boosters, Model United Nations Boosters, and Odyssey of the Mind-as regional and state judge. Michelle resides in Manhattan Beach. Her son and daughter, both Mira Costa graduates, currently attend UCLA and UC Berkeley.
